"Just plug a new dvd drive and and update all drivers"

CD/DVD drives don't need special drivers, the drivers are built into the OS. And drivvers have nothing to do with the BIOS.

Why did you install a Quadro 600? Do you do a lot of CAD & 3D work? It's a weak card with low power requirements. It's only rated at 40W so unless your 550W PSU is a complete POS, there should be no reason to replace it. The Quadro 600 is roughly equivalent to a GT630 (which is considered a HTPC card) but it costs 2-3 times as much.

What about the rest of your system specs? Which board revision do you have? Is your CPU overclocked? Are you using the correct RAM? Have you disabled the onboard graphics? Have you ever updated the BIOS version?

By 'bios mode' do you mean you're in bios setup or are you talking about the posting process when your first turn it on? And it only freezes in 'bios mode' when you have a multimedia DVD in the drive? Any other disk in the drive doesn't cause the problem?

Thanx all for the quick reply.First PC used to freeze while opening multimedia content but now it has started freezing right during POST even without any CD/DVD inside.First i thought that it is the problem of some MASTER/SLAVE etc. so i change the port then i found out that when i attach CD/DVD to any available SATA port, BIOS fails to recognize CD/DVD drive but freezes on boot itself and when i detach DVD Drive everything works well I am unable to recognize the real problem.
I am learning 3D CAD so according to certain software's recommendation these quadro cards are necessary. I never do overclocking and that stuffs, because i don't know how to. BIOS currently doesn't have update from Gigabyte, Graphics adapter is automatically set to PCI by bios itself (I don't know what PEG is).
My Specs:
Intel Core2quad 6600, Gigabyte g41MT- S2, Nvidia quadro 600, 550 watts local PSU, Samsung Sata CD/DVD, Seagate 500 gb SATA, Transcend 4 Gb 1333 mhz RAM.Win 7 64 bit.

If everything works normally with the DVD drive disconnected then it must be either the drive or the cable causing the problem, especially since it's happening before it boots into windows. Try another cable first and then another drive if you still have the problem.

It doesn't sound like an accumulated dust or heat issue but while the case is open you might as well blow the dust out with compressed air.

Thanks everyone for reply. Since my DVD drive was going old and under performing so i decided to buy an external DVD burner it can also help my brothers laptop whose DVD ROM was not working properly.
