Solved PC doesn't boot up

September 15, 2017 at 18:44:18
Specs: Windows 10, Intel Core i7 4790/8GB 1600MHZ DDR3
My PC doesn't boot up sometimes. When I try to boot up my PC it doesn't boot up. The CPU LED LIGHT shows up and indicates an error with the CPU. However when I keep it powered off for a while the system will boot up magically into windows 10 when attempted. However, whenever the system boots up properly, the power LED doesn't show up, which is supposed to show up whenever there is a power input to the system. Sometimes the system randomly shuts down when using it in windows 10. Also when the CPU LED light shows up the On Board Audio Lights do not show up. Below are the specifications of my System-:
CPU - Intel Core i7 4790
GPU - MSI GEFORCE GTX 1080
STORAGE - 2X WD BLUE 1TB HDD
1X SAMSUNG 850 EVO SSD
PSU - SEASONIC ECO 600
CASE - CORSAIR CRYSTAL 460X
RAM - 8GB KINGSTON DDR3 1600MHZ
OS - WINDOWS 10

The CPU is a Core i7. Since when did Intel start putting LEDs on them?

I think the OP is talking about the front case lights, probably the hard drive access light.
The problem you describe is either the power supply or a heating issue. Run HWMonitor and report back on the internal temperatures and the primary voltages (12V, 5V, 3.3V) for review for these three times: as soon as started, after 10 minutes idling, and after 10 minutes hard use or gaming. These may give us a clue as to where the problems are.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

It wasn't installing a large windows update was it?? The solid light if it is the hard disk light, is on steady because it is reading from the hard drive non stop. After Windows has loaded up and it settles down the light may go out. So is this a hard disk light or the power indicator light on the case?

You could download Seatols for windows and do a long generic test, to make sure the hard drive is not the issue.

Tho made for a seagate hard drive, it works on most all hard drives.or go to the make of your hard drive and download theirs such as (Western Digital)...me, I just use Seatools for Windows.

Cheers

To err is human but to really screw things up, you need a computer!
