Solved PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA BSOD upon inserting USB drive

July 10, 2015 at 06:35:38
Specs: Windows 7 64-bit, C i3 530 2.93GHz / 4GB DDR2 1333MHz
I have a Transcend JetFlash V700 USB 3.0 8GB drive that causes BSOD when inserting. Problem is specific to this pen drive irrespective of systems, Windows XP or 7.

Is it possible to fix the problem?

If your other flash (pen) drives work then the drive itself is faulty. They have a limited life.

If there is nothing important on it you might be able to reformat it and fix the problem but as it has played up it would be difficult to have much further faith in it. If the BSOD won't let you format it, try booting with the flash drive left in place. Format by right clicking the flash drive in "Computer" but be sure which drive is which, ie don't format something else in error.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
