Microsoft Microsoft windows xp home edit...
March 25, 2010 at 06:24:01
Specs: Windows XP
Recently I was working on cleaning out some old programs from my computer. Error message says "browser settings prevent you from being redirected to a new URL". An example is after entering username and password to log in to yahoo mail, white screen with above error appears and cannot access mail messages.
I've noticed as well that even though most other web pages laod, there are elements that are missing that are normally there, such as ads and links to other articles. It seems that it specifically is related to pages that involve log in and passwords as I can't access my bank online either. I'm guessing I deleted some kind of viewing program or driver, but can't seem to find the fix for the issue. Any suggestions?

first of all what browser are you using, if you are using IE8 then try uninstalling and reinstalling it, if you are using just IE then upgrade to IE8, make sure all your computer updates are in from the microsoft download manager, and if that dont work then as a temporary fix till you figure out the real problem...branch out and try a different browser...a few you could try are Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome

If you are using a popup blocker, some of them cause similar problems to yours.
