If your computer keeps shutting down I doubt it has anything to do with the graphics card being old. More likely your computer is overheating and it shuts down to prevent the components being permanently damaged by the heat.

Make sure all the fans are working and give the internal components aand ventilation slots a good blow out with a can of compressed air purpose made for that task.

As stated above, it could be an overheating issue. It could also be a power supply issue. Based on your specs, you certainly don't need a 750W PSU, but 750W doesn't tell us anything about its quality - what is the make/model? As for the graphics cards, I've gotta ask why you would run two 8500GTs? It's not that they're old, but they are (& always were) entry-level cards. You could have gotten one decent gaming card for the price you paid for the two 8500GTs.

first thank you for taking time to reply probably I didn't explain my self properly
I am certain is not the PSU because I've tried 3 including one brand new I've just purchase and is not the overheating issue because I have got 2 x 120mm fans one in the front one in the back and 80mm fan in the side and for the CPU cooler fan I got a zalman CNPS9700. and sometimes it shut off after 5 minutes even been off all night
I have checked the temperature in the bios the CPU is around 35 and mobo 37 degrees Celsius
would you bereave i even tried different motherboard and CPU with no joy is driving me crazy
Any idea which part may the guilty?
