p4 2.8 laptop overclock

Specs: Windows XP, p4 2.8/ddr pc 2700
can anyone help me overclock my laptop?be forewarned I am BRAND new at this/know nothing at all.

That P4 is probably running just a few degrees below your keyboard's melting point. Don't try overclocking it. It will probably get too hot and throttle (underclock), leaving you with less performance than you started with.

drat and thanks,hey wait...i don't mind altering the case if neccesary,couldn't i also improve the cooling?i'll duct tape a 20'' house/ box fan to the bottom if it will help.

Generally its best to overclock through the BIOS, but you wont have this option. You can use software such as SetFSB, but as previously said, laptops are not designed for this. It is more touble than its worth and can be potentially dangerous. Due to software limitations, SetFSB is dodgy at best, and very hard to get a stable overclock. Do it at your own risk.
