Solved operating system not found

Specs: windows 8 beta
Hello,i have a toshiba l355 and recently i turned off my laptop and when i turned it back on a black screen pops up that says "operating system not found" the original operating system was windows vista then i installed Ubuntu over it then it got overwritten with a beta windows 8 so after the beta went out the laptop restarts every hours.i was just wondering was there anyway to recover the data off the computer?

You can try pulling data off the drive by removing it from your laptop and buying an external hard drive enclosure for it, then plug that enclosure into USB port of a working computer.

If recovering data from folders inside a Windows user account (Pictures, Documents etc)
you may get "access denied" error because of Windows' privacy mechanism. If that happens just take ownership of those folders in their Properties > Security tab.

Another option:
Use a Live Linux DVD and boot to it (not install) and copy your files that way.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
