Specs: Windows 2000, 512
Have a windows 2000 professional system locked down by group policy object? In any event, the video card failed, tried to find identical one inno3d without success. purchased another and have tried several. cannot load video drivers due to restrictions. cannot get to control panel, desktop, really anywhere except the propriatary software. The display defaults to 640/480, very grainy and half of screen is missing with software. can i somehow load drivers before lock down takes place? bypass lockdown? can i load drivers in an autoexec.bat or config.sys boot sequence??? HELP!

Can you get to GPEdit.msi? Go in and temporarily remove the driver installation restrictions.

Is this computer on a Domain? If so try logging in as local admin. If not then try logging in as the administrator. Brst guess is that the admin password is blank because that is what it is out-of-the-box for windows installs.

You have to run gpedit through the GUI so go to Start Click Run and Type GPEDIT.MSI.

Also, did you try to login as ADMINISTRATOR yet?
