Nvidia 8400 =No signal?

July 3, 2010 at 23:28:39
Specs: Windows Vista
Hello, I am an user of the "Nvidia 8400" which came along (pre-installed) with my computer. My computer is a Acer ASPIRE M5640 (win vista Home premium 32 bit)..
The problem with my graphic card is that it outputs "NO-SIGNAL" though I had tightened it .. this however, does not affect my Nvidia 7100 (I have 2 Graphic card pre-install, apparently..)

May I request THAT you to specify what problem is this and the root of it?? Also, is this problem common?? I will give out any extra technical information if requested, thanks.

the system works fine before now from nowhere u get no signal right? I assume u didn't mess with bios. Try to reinstall the card (make sure to clean it).
Geforce 7100gs is a v-card, 7100 is not a v-card, we call it *igp* so u have one v-card.

By reinstalling, you mean taking out the Graphic card and putting it back?? Installing it's driver did no effect whatsoever.....
And the graphic card that cannot be used is 8400 , not the 7100 (Currently used) ....I don't know whether has a difference, but thanks for the reply, I appreciate it!

BY reinstalling the card, do you mean taking it out and putting it back in? I installed the driver before, and it had no effect whatsoever....I believe the 7100 is an integrated graphic card, whereas the 8400 is not, I had not tampered with the BIOS, but what should be the default PCI or Any other settings? I once set it to Optimized default setting , but nothing happened..Thanks for the reply anyway, I appreciate it.

P.S Your assumption was correct, It worked fine 1.5 years ago, I had not used it at all during that time, and when I turned it on today, this surprise popped up..

Well, I could not really see the video card spinning for the cover is closed and not transparent...I will try to reinstall the card tomorrow, for it is late at where I am from....And I have only one blue wire connecting the video card slot and the Monitor, Only One serial connection, so I should be having the PCI-EXPRESS right?
