Not able to see CD drive and to access

Specs: Windows XP
i have been using a hp 530 since last 1
year...some days before virus has attacked
my laptop..i was using Vista, so i tried to shift
it in to Windows XP SP3 ...once it completed i
tried to open my computer .. unfortunately CD
Drives was not there and am not able to do
further..so that i tried to reinstall XP again but
not able to boot from cd Drive...i changed the
boot option to CD drive but result was
negative...plese suggest me how can i get it
ready..i need to boot cd from CD Drive..

@ this point bios don't recognize the drive right? Try to reinstall the drive (most of laptops optical drive are removable)

This sounds like a driver issue. Considering that the computer is much newer than XP it is not surprising that XP does not have a driver. Go to the manufacturers website and see if they have a driver.

It's not a driver issue + driver is in win xp. And u don't need a driver to boot from cd/dvd drive.
