WinXP doesn't natively support SATA controllers. You need to supply the SATA drivers somehow. Either by floppy at the very beginning of the installation, or by slip streaming them in the files on your WinXP CD.

What service pack is integrated into your WinXP CD?

Do you have a floppy drive in that computer?

As OtH stated, you have to load the drivers from a floppy at the very beginning of the installation, OR you have to create a new XP CD with the SATA drivers slipstreamed into it, OR you *may* be able to go into the BIOS & set the SATA controller to "IDE compatibility mode". If you're able to use the last option, just install XP as you normally would. After XP is installed, install the SATA drivers, then go back into the BIOS & change the setting back.
