No welcome/post screen on start-up!

Specs: Windows XP, 3.0 Mhz/4GB
Hello everyone, just built a custom PC, here the main specs:

- NZXT Alpha case
- ECS A780GM-A Mobo
- Corsair DDR2 800 PC2 6400
- Corsair 450W PSU
- AMD 64 X2 6000 3.0 Mhz processor
- Windows XP Home SP3

Here the possible problem: I have built 2 other PC's in the past with the same motherboard, AMD 64 X2 processors, same power supply, different cases. With the previous one's on start-up I always got the ECS Black Series Welcome screen with three beeps, then a black screen, then Windows opens. This one however has no Welcome screen, no beeps, it goes straight to Windows. I have double checked the front panel wiring, looks correct. I am not 100% sure about the USB and audio wiring, I have one cable with three possible connectors, HD Audio, AC97, and 7 small single connectors. I am not sure if they all need to be connected to the motherboard, I only connected the HD Audio into the F_Audio socket. RE sound and no post/welcome screen - is this a potential problem? Any suggestions/advice? Thanks!

"it goes straight to Windows."

Most folks complain when it doesn't work.

Don't worry about it.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

either the board has been booted before, maybe for a test by the manufacturer or rather, the store that sold it, or the bios has been set to load defaults without asking for the F1 at all, since it may be a newer version of bios. do't sweat it, you're fine.

I always say it's best to doublecheck.

I have almost the same problem. I got a new LCD monitor and when I connected through DVI-I the POST screen is not displayed. When connected through VGA everything ok. When I have dual monitor LCD on DVI-I and older CRT on VGA and start the PC the POST is displayed only on the CRT. POST no POST windows loads fine afterwards. My PC composition is: INTEL 865 PERL, P4 2.4 Ghz, 2*512 + 2*256 DDR, WD 40gb+ WD 80gb, ATI RADEON 9200, Philips CRT 17", LG W2252 TQ (lcd)

That is weird. My problem kind of solved itself - I had it unplugged for a few days, then on start-up I got the post and welcome screen prior to the Microsoft XP screen. Good luck!
