No sound in my pc

Specs: Windows XP professional version 2002 service pack 2
Hai techies,
For the past two days, there is no sound from
my system.I checked out th e
speakers,drivers ....Everything is fine .....Even
i re installed the drivers too and my sound
devices are detected...I don't know whats it
exactly....
MOTHERBOARD : M2V-MX
PROCESSOR : AMD ATHLON 3200+ 64 bit

ON BOARD SOUND CARD...

Check in sound properties for anything that is muted. Also check the sound and audio properties to verify the setting there are correct.

Thanx for your assistance...But still the problem not solved...i
checked....everything is set correct....the volume slider is set
high in all tabs(device volume,speaker volume)...And now i
noticed one thing...I checked the box "place the volume icon in
the taskbar...But no volume icon in my taskbar found...I suspect
some virus have made some damage to my audio...."

You may just have the option to hide unused icons enabled.
