No sound after fixing computer.

Acer / Aspire m5630

Specs: Windows 7, 2.394 GHz / 2047 MB
Some times when I do some work on my
computer and have to unplug everything and
reconnect them, my speakers won't work. The
speakers themselves work fine, it's just the on-
board connection on the back of the computer. I'll
try plugging them into every jack (6 including the
Mic) but nothing will work. Rebooting the
computer doesn't seem to make a difference.
Then for no reason whatsoever the sound will start
working again! I believe it's actually a Windows 7
64-bit issue because I never had this problem with
Windows XP 32-bit. I have an Acer Aspire
M5630. Has anyone else had this issue and
figured out how to get it working correctly right
away? It's now been 24 hours and I still don't
have any sound.

What are your bios setting for the on board sound device?

You may have a problem with the cord to the speakers. Have you tried other speakers?
