OK, your system ran fine for 7 months...then you upgrade the video card. You begin having problems & you suspect the RAM is the cause?? As Spock would say, that's illogical.

My guess is you have a crappy power supply that became overloaded due to the new video card. List the make/model/wattage & the amperage specs. You also have one of the defective Phenoms with the TLB bug which can cause the system to act up under high loads.

In addition to the above, which I agree with, Your system is obviously POSTing or you wouldn't get into WinXP.

There is no bump in function in any of the CN forums.

Man you guys don't read clearly, same video card and i cant get to windows i cant even get to the bios. the lights, fans, hard drive, cdrom, and mobo leds turn on but thats all it does the heatsink is getting warm so i dont believe its the cpu, my power supply is 430 watts my videocard needs 420, I know its close but it worked for months. so what would you suspect first the sapphire ati radeon hd3870 or the expensive mushkin xtreme pc6400 ddr2 memory.

yeah it is a cheap power supply, and the phenom was acting up during boot sequences it would jumble words and symbols in.
also I apologize that the first post was poorly wrote. I was flustered and tired. I gave a description of what the videocard was doing before the machine stopped posting, because i thought that someone may have experience with the card.

I did however learn my lesson by giving amd/ati a try never again once the board is outdated its intel/nvidia from there on
