No Dispay at all!

I have recently put a Radeon 9200 pci video card into my old Compaq pc because the integrated graphics suck. However, whenever the video card is in the computer, I get absolutely no display on the monitor, not even the POST screens. The monitor light simply flashes as it does in sleep mode. It does not work regardless of whether the monitor is plugged into the video card or into the integrated card, but works fine when I take the card out.

However, Windows starts fine; I can hear it through my speakers!

I have tried disabling the integrated graphics through the Windows device manager but I still get no display.

Help would be greatly appreciated!

I suspect either you have to change some BIOS settings (disable onboard, change shared memory to none, change initial display 1st to PCI) or you have a bad PCI card. Have you tested the card to confirm it works? Tried different PCI slots?

I have tried it in all the slots.

Unfortunately, there is no option to disable the onboard video or anything like that in the BIOS. I have a Compaq motherboard, and the BIOS is pretty much useless.

"there is no option to disable the onboard video or anything like" there may not be an option to disable but, is there option to change the initial display? It may be set to agp, even though you don't have a agp slot.
