Does anyone think my desktop would have been damaged in any way when stored in the trunk of a car during a bumpy ride?

Some depends on how bumpy the ride was but as long as the computer wasn't running it should be OK.

The next time you need to transport one, try seat belting it into the back seat so there will be cushioning under it and the belt should prevent it from sudden moving around.
Most problems if there are any should show up right away so you will know it. If there are, I would look to removing RAM and reseating them as well as add on cards and gently wiggling many of the connectors to make sure they are fully seated.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Thanks guys for the replies. I mean i was thinking about how these computer parts are shipped via ups or another shipping company. Who knows what they go through during shipment.

Drives and electronics are shipped in antistatic bags and cushioned when necessary. Barring some horror story--a UPS truck's doors opening causing packages to be strewn all over the highway--they safely get to where they're going.
