Solved Newly built PC not turning on.

July 10, 2011 at 06:00:56
Specs: N/A, Intel i5 2500k
PC not powering up. When I plug the power in and turn it on, nothing happens. The PSU has a soft humming sound (you can hardly hear it, but it's there), but nothing else seems to be working, fans, lights, nothing.

This is my first build, so maybe the cables are in the wrong places? Or are there something wrong with the hardware? I did accidentally touch the back of my motherboard, could that have screwed things up?

Intel i5 2500k
Gigabyte Geforce GTX560 Ti
ASRock Z68 Extreme4 Mobo
Caviar Blue 1TB HDD
Antec HCG 520 PSU
Coolermaster HAF922 Case

Thanks in advance.

It's hard to say what it is. You need to strip it down and start over. You should always bench test a system before final assembly. Here's an article on how to do that.

I decided to take it down to a local computer store just in case it was me screwing things up. I'll tell you how it goes when I get the computer back.
