Specs: Windows XP SP3, Athlon 2500/2 Gb
I changed my old IDE hdd to SATA hdd. Before that,i had taken disc images of IDE Hdd's partitions with Macrium Reflect.
After adding the Sata drive, i partitioned and formatted it with WD Data Lifeguard Tools.
Then i restored the partitions with Macrium Reflect Boot CD.

Now the new HDD won't boot into windows but gives a blue screen with a 0x0000007B stop message. How can i get it to boot to windows? Thanks.

XP doesn't natively support SATA HDDs. You need to install the SATA drivers at the start of the installation for the HDD to be recognized. Check your BIOS to see if you can change the SATA controller setting to IDE compatibility mode.

Thanks! I got it working, i just had to create a sata/raid floppy disk, and load it by pressing F6 during install of XP. First tried the Repair option (repair existing Windows), it did not do the trick (the BSOD kept coming back), but had to format the partition and install fresh XP. Now everything is fine.
