I Bought a new today LCD LG 22" 2ms 1680x1050 from an older CRT and besides the microscopic dead pixel you can barley see, i didn't notice it when i first played some games on it but when i played a game with a dark background i could see horizontal white lines going up and down ( think of an old TV with bad cable connection ) its not like full blown lines but i can see them and its really bugging me is there a problem with the monitor or is some setting not right or what?

When i put in the CD to install the drivers when i bought it there was no option for Windows 7(on the box it says - Win 7 Compatible.....I was playing with it on PnP drivers (PlugNPlay) where it just said Generic monitor or w/e in the device manager then i manually installed the Win 7 drivers from the site and now device manager says (W2242)(Analog)

(They don't appear when it's just on desktop or anything like that just with video (games) i'm guessing)

So that's the complete story any diagnostics?

Yes i bought i brand it new, it came with 1 cable with both ends VGA(blue) i already had 1 DVI adapter so i put it on the end of the VGA that goes into my GPU(which has 2 DVI ports) and VGA part is connected to my monitor(there is a DVI port also, but since i only have 1 DVI adapter i had to use it on the GPU since there is no VGA connection on my Video Card(GTX460))

So i have to buy a cable with both ends DVI?, I'm curious why didn't the monitor come with a DVI Adapter, isn't DVI more popular anyway...and this should fix the problem?

Hi KUSH, did you try a DVI cable? I have the exact same problem on my new computer but my monitor doesn't have a DVI input. I cant decide whether or not to risk buying another monitor.
