My laptop suffered some physical damage for the first time. After that a blank screen was all it would show. I took it to Geek Squad and they replaced my hard drive. The laptop worked fine for a week (besides constantly freezing...) but now a window keeps popping up saying a hard disk problem has been detected and that I need to replace the hard drive. I just got a new one almost two weeks ago and I have not downloaded or saved anything. I don't see how anything could be wrong with it. Help?
If you paid to have it repaired then take it back and complain. They've obviously not done a good enough job. You also said that the unit suffered some physical damage? How? Was it dropped? Was the constant freezing evident before the other damage/HDD replacement? Failure of a brand new HDD is unlikely but not impossible but I would suspect there is some other undiagnosed problem with the system. Could be the ram.
