NEW BUILD - Boot Device LED Won't Turn Off

June 6, 2011 at 09:20:30
Specs: Windows 7, 4 GB Corsair Vengeance CL9
I am attempting to finish my first build and I've hit an annoying snag. During POST, my mobo beeps when the status lights hit the boot device LED and it stays on. My mobo recognizes my DVD writer as a potential boot device, but it has not recognized any of my hard drives. Any suggestions?

CONFIGURATION:

Asus z68 pro mobo
i7 2600k
mushkin callisto 60 gb ssd
ocz 750w fatality psu

1. I've put the boot mode to AHCI
2. I can't find quick boot in my BIOS
3. I've tried almost all of the SATA ports

What BIOS do you have? The above site has some beep codes. How many beeps do you hear? Are they long or short?

I have the ASUS EFI BIOS utility, version 8801. I hear one beep and it is a short beep. In my manual, it says one short beep could mean one of the following:

1. VGA detected
2. Quick Boot set to disabled
3. No keyboard detected

Go into the BIOS again. If the drive isn't recognized there, either enter the drive info or set it to auto.
