New AOC E2250WDN monitor suddenly wont display anything

November 14, 2015 at 07:53:38
Specs: Lwindows 7, Amd phenom 2300mhz triple core
Hi all - this is driving me mad...

Aoc e2250wdn monitor
Ati radeon HD 3870
Windows 7

My new monitor suddenly wont display with specific card, not even bios boot screen appears, when i plug in other monitors they work fine so its the specific monitor

I have deleted/installed drivers for both video card and monitor numerous times but nothing.

When i used a different graphics card the monitor worked but with max resolution at 1280 x 768. It would also turn off and back on on its own (like unplugging and plugging back in a usb device - thats the sound you hear when this happens)

Any ideas?

"I have deleted/installed drivers for both video card and monitor numerous times but nothing"

I don't see how uninstalling/re-installing drivers numerous times is going to help? Plus monitor drivers are unnecessary. The HD 3870 is considered a legacy card. There have been no driver updates for over 2 years. Make sure you're using the correct one. Assuming you have Windows 7 32-bit, here is the last driver available:

If you have Win7 64-bit, use this one:

Did you connect the 6-pin plug to the rear of the card? Did you try a different monitor cable? Are you using VGA or DVI?

Thanks for the reply,

Yes I have tried this driver you mention, I am using dvi cable since specific card has no vga output but 2 dvi ports (which ive tried both to no avail). Tried 2 different cables and 2 other older monitors, they all work fine on the amd card only AOC monitor gets no signal.

The AOC monitor wont even display the bios boot which worries me, yet displays fine on an older nvidia geforce 8500gt card (this is the card it randomly connects and disconnects from)
