Solved Netbook battery charger OK?

Asus netbook, used; came w "replacement AC adapter" 19v 2.1A The genuine Asus charger specifies +19v and 1.58A Will it damage the computer to use the replacement adapter? Thanks

As long as the adapter has output of 19 volts & 2 amps with centre-pin positive (+) it's okay.

Some cheaper replacement adapters usually have a higher stated spec so they can slap on whatever plug they want and sell it, and also to cover up for poorer construction in the internals; as long as the voltage is the same as an OEM adapter you should be fine.

The higher amps figure just means it is "capable" of delivering that. Your netbook will take what it needs so it will not damage anything. If the amps figure was too low it could have been inadequate.
