neither of my cd/dvd drives works. They will not read cd/dvds. I get a code 19 error message about windows missing information in the registery, I tried updating windows this did not work either. I know that my H drive was accidently formatted while I was away at work. I dont know how to recover or if it is possible to recover that information or if it had anything to do with it. It worked fine then when I came home it would not load a cd so I tried several more in both drives and to no avail nothing. That is when I was checking c and h drive and noticed that H drive had gained a lot of memory back. So when I asked my step son what happened he said that he kept getting a message that it was almost full so he formatted it for me. Ugh please help...
Sounds like a couple of problems. First one is the formatted partition. You MAY be able to repair that partition using a utility called testdisk. Read the tutorials completely prior to using. Click the link below.
