Need USA Version of Sony laptop DC power jack

Specs: Win XP Pro / Win Vis, E6300 / 2 GB
I have a Sony PCG-3E5P and the DC jack went out. This is not an american model so I cannot find the replacement parts. Is there a US model comparable to this model that I could use a DC jack replacement from? I have pictures of what the jack looks like if needed.

Thanks.

By 'jack' I assume you mean the part that's soldered on the laptop motherboard and not the plug at the end of the power adapter cable? If it is the adapter plug (and it's not some weird proprietary connector) you should be able to match it up at an electronic supply store. The soldered jack may be harder to find. But you should be able to order any part you want. International boundaries shouldn't matter.

You may want to post back a link to the pictures.

As you can see the plug-in looks like 2 prongs. I think a piece broke off from there. The jack isn't actually soldered in there it looks like it just uses that connector.

I think if you go here:

http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computi...

and enter the country in which it was purchased you'll be able to find a support page for it that will also include a 'repair and parts' section.

LIkely other models, possibly some from the US, use the same piece but I'm not familiar with their connections.
