Solved need to uninstall hp officejet d series from xp without disk

Specs: Windows XP
upgraded from d series to hp f4180. problem with making usb connection so have unstalled and deleted associated hp files but cannot delete the old hp d series program from add/delete programs as the option is not available. obviously need some software or clean up unstall prog to remove the old before attempting the f4180 reinstall. can you help?
sorry not savvy enough to fill form cpu/ram or tags boxes.

When you deleted the files or HP folder, you have prevented the add-remove feature from being able to remove what is left of the program which is mainly the registry entry. If the computer will run normally and print normally, it may be best to ignore the fact that it is still there. If it creates any issues or you would just like to fix it, you will need to reinstall the software, restart the machine, and then uninstall it again. You can download the software from HP's site.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

You should use the uninstaller, not delete. Reinstall the software then uninstall the right way:
