Need to retrieve email addresses and emails from old HD

March 4, 2012 at 20:52:10
Specs: Windows 7, Pent4 dual quad Q950@2.83GHz 4 gigs
My friends computer has been making noise and I think it is the hard drive. He only has one HD on the computer. He has Windows Vista and he also has Microsoft Office with Outlook. If I can get the hard drive to run on my computer, what is the file extensions I need to look for and if possible what folder would I find these files in? Thanks much. Srloren

Computer makes noise, if u feel the hdd is about to fail(not sure) download and run a diagnostic tool from hdd manufacture. The tool will tell if the HDD is bad or not. Always back-up the important data.

Your CPU is Core 2 Quad Q9500

I would follow the above advice to see if that actually is the problem. Now Outlook, Outlook Express, etc all save mail in different locations...so one has to be sure what was being used. If he/she was using outlook, then the file you need to copy is the .pst file.

Use soft like Aida64 to identify the hard drive. I remember using seagate tool on non-seagate drive, try seagate tool.
