I know you guys can help. my router is old and I need to change for a router that would have wired (for regular usage) and if that exist 1 wireless for my tablet (wireless needed like 2 times a week max)
I have videotron high speed internet. always had the same router an old netgear router, which allows me to go to about 1mb download(for my desktop and laptop) but its been 10 years and with my new tablet I need an optional wireless for when I need it.

Does that exist? I mostly need wired as I use in small office. For the wireless I only need it when a customer really want to pay via credit card (which happens once a month or so and is the reason I bought tablet with square set up for very rare cc charge)

Is this possible? I mean I don't want all wireless for obvious protection reasons and mostly im no crack/genius with computer and really don't want people either loggin in or stealin bandwith. so if there is a wired router with maybe wireless too, what should I get id like to pay 50$ and less if that's possible. also if it is wireless too....would it be wireless only when I use with tablet or technically its 24/7 there?(is there like an option for when we need it vs all the time?)

Im sure some will laugh, but I need your advice and help as I do need wireless for cc payment.

Most wireless routers include the 4 LAN wired ports as well. Make sure that you set up a password for the wireless so it is secure from other people and do not give out this password. You should be able to leave the Wifi on all of the time but if you want maximum security, then I am pretty sure most wireless routers include a button to turn off and on the wireless (the one I have does). If you do leave the wireless on full time (or during business hours), then you and those you trust can use the Wifi feature for cell phones, tablets, and laptops as needed.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

YES, what you want exists and you can buy it in any computer shop at a cheap price. Usually the router offers four wired LAN ports and one hot spot to connect a reasonably number of wifi devices. About safety/privacy any wifi network is exposed to intrusion and there are simple techniques to avoid that configuring the router as enabling a list of MAC authorized to connect and passwords. If rarely you access the wifi connection, you can even enable that when necessary.

''If rarely you access the wifi connection, you can even enable that when necessary.''
So if I understand correctly the 4 wired port would be secured and the wifi could be enabled just when I need it? how would I do that ie enabling wifi just when I need it? its a setting on router or?

any router would do so I can keep my 1mg download/transfer rate? or any suggestion
I think I have to look at wireless router is this like this

"I have videotron high speed internet"

And they didn't supply a modem/wireless router combo?
