Specs: Windows XP, Pentium D
I am building a new computer and have decided on an i7-2600k processor. My primary applications will be autocad, audio / video remastering, math calculations, and some gaming. I've been leaning toward one of the following 2 processors: 1) Asus P8Z77-V LGA 1155 Intel Z77 4xDDR3 , or, 2) ASRock Z75 Pro3 LGA 1155 Intel Z75 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0. Can anyone out there offer me a little insight, advice, or suggestions? Thanks.

The Z77 series will allow overclocking options fully on that CPU...
BUT why not jump ahead a few generations and go with a Z97 series motherboard with an i5-4690K? Why build a new computer only to have it a couple of model years old before you even get to use it? Think of the performance improvement now and the possible resale value in a couple of years if you might be needing an upgrade for performance again due to a lot more workload.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
