Need a 3.5 floppy system disc for T3100e!

Specs: Windows 7
Unearthed my original laptop in a loft clear-out but it will not boot-up - demands a set-up disc and I don't have one - would like to give laptop to my young grand daughter.

just order a usb floppy drive and set it to boot up first in the bios.
Is that what you are looking for?

No XPU still looking, Toshiba do not go back that far.

Though he can not use USB, it was not available in 1986.

Googling is quicker than waiting for an answer....

Hi Richard, is it possible the cmos battery has failed and the bios hdd parameters etc. reset to factory defaults, such that it no longer recognises the hard disc?

If so, leave pluigged in for an hour or so and the battery may accept a charge.

Maybe the bios can be accessed to reset the hdd params, without a setup floppy disc.

Alternatively maybe google can help. e.g.:-

From the specs Jolicloud posted, I don't see where that laptop will be of any use to your Grand daughter. You won't be able to run any modern programs or surf the internet with it.

Looks like TEST3.EXE and maybe TSETUP.EXE from here:

will work. Might be some other useful stuff there too.
