My video driver won't start up.

November 26, 2010 at 06:12:00
Specs: Windows XP, 2.20 GHz/2046 MB
I have an NVidea GEforce 8300 GS. There isa problem with it (Code 10). The good news is the generic video drivers are stilll operational, but most programs don't look good in 640 x 480 resolution and 4 bit color (I can't change it either). I have tried System restore, updating drivers, and reinstalling drivers, but nothing works. Apparently, DirectX diag cannot even detect my hard ware. Any help?

The v-card is detected that why u can still see a picture (use gpuz). It's looks like driver issues. Download latest driver from nvidia then uninstall the current driver and restart the system then install new driver.

Already tried those, the driver refuses to install. It is saying that the required hardware is not found.

Right click on My Computer, click Properties, click the Hardware tab, click Device Manager, click the "+" next to Display Adapters. Right click the 1st entry under Display Adapters, then click Uninstall. If there are other entries, do the same to all of them. Once they're all uninstalled, reboot.
