My Segate Portable hard drive doesnt run, it beeps for more

Specs: Windows 7
I have purchased Segate hard drive 500gb all of sudden after 1 year it is not showing to my pc i deassamble it and use external power and data cable now i come to know its just beeping but doesnt run, what will be the posssible problem ?

Hard drives do not beep. There is nothing inside a hard drive to make it beep.

The is probably nothing wrong with the hard drive and something else is making the beeping noise, possible the BIOS telling you there is a fault on the motherboard, possibly memory or video.

You need to explain in detail exactly what the happened and when and explain what you mean by dissembled. What was this external power and data, was it USB. Did you connect it to the same computer is was installed in originally.

Following on from Stuarts's comments... Does it ocurr at boot up only or later? Also is the "bleeping" constant, or is it a sequence of beepe, some sense of order/number? Might be useful to know that in order to assist in diagnosing the problem...
