My pc will not boot up when I install a rade

Specs: Windows XP, PentiumD 930 (P) DC 3.0GHz
I have just purchased a Radeon 5570 Graphics card, When I install it, my pc will not even boot up, all I hear is the CPU fan..nothing else. My motherboard is an Asus P5LP-LE, I have a 400W power supply, 3G of RAM, One PCI-E slot. Present graphics card is an ATI Radeon x1300pro 256MB DDR Memory, can you help please

The reason might be that your PSU isn't of good quality since it's provided by a OEM.
Meaning it runs at a peak performance of 400W.
Through the years it will only wear down to a lower power output.
If we take a look at the requirements of the Radeon X1300 Pro we can see it demands a 350W.
With the info from above we can surely say the PSU provides the necessary 350W but not the 400W for the Radeon HD 5570.

Thanks for your advice, I'll try upgrading to 600W or so and see if that helps.

Don't just run out & buy a power supply. You have no idea if that's the problem or not. It may be, then again, it may not. The HD 5570 is a low power, energy efficient card. It requires approx 45W under full load. The X1300 Pro requires approx 35W. I doubt the 10W difference is going to crash the power supply. If you do get a 600W unit, make sure you get a good one. Plan on spending $50-100 (unless there's a sale/rebate involved) or you'll just be wasting your money.
