Specs: Windows XP, 512 Mb Ram, Intel P4
My pc turns off while i m working on it, but the fan seems to be running as i can hear the sound and this happens when ever i m on pc for more than half an hour. sumbody plsssssss help me as this is causing a lot of inconvenience to me while m busy doin sumthin impt on my pc.

Looks like your keyboard isn't working properly - numerous letters are missing. Spell check isn't working either.

List your complete system specs along with the CPU & system temperatures.

Sounds like an overheating problem. You may want to check your system temperatures in the BIOS. Also, when is the last time you opened the PC case to see if there is a lot of dust in there (especially on the CPU heatsink & fan)? If there is a dust build-up, you should clean it out using a can of compressed air (DON"T use a vacuum cleaner!). There could be other issues, but that would be a good place to start your troubleshooting.

I'm just curious. "Don't use a vacuum cleaner" is mentioned on many websites. However, I have often pondered about this. If you use a long tube then the motor is far enough away for it's field to be negligible. Have you personally zapped any computers by using a vacuum?
