my pc mic is buzzing loudly

May 1, 2011 at 13:43:12
Specs: Windows 7
At the start of my recording, everything is alright, but very quiet. then, a DEAFENING loud buzzing starts up, so it blocks your voice out. Am I too near it or something? My microphone is one of those where you fix it up at the top of the computer.

"... is one of those where you fix it up at the top of the computer..."

... if you're refering to a mic in a "laptop screen" then I'd suggest you unhook the mains adapter when speaking through the mic also whilst recording!

... the ac/dc peaks and dip cycles will interfere unless you run just off the battery.

Buzzing could be from feedback or maybe some fault with the recording software or audio device or like you said some electronic interference.

Is this windows 7?

Did it ever work?

Is it new?

What application are you using to record?

Do you have the speakers on at the same time or headphones?

As Mavis007 suggests, if laptop then remove ac while recording.
