lm using a 5v base one motherboard and l want to upgrade its processor to a 486 based one which needs a 3.3x to power it . how do i do it, l need your help.

What is a "5v base one motherboard"? And out of curiousity, what are you using such old hardware for?

Many older 486 Intel motherboards had jumpers on them to change the voltage going to the processor. Many of the processors of that era used TWO different voltages.

You need the manual for your board, which will be hard to find if you don't have it.

All that said, you are wasting your time if you think you will see any difference in performance.

There may be some advantage by finding some type of Overdrive CPU that would work with your current MoBo, but first of all they're quite rare now---plus like OtH says, even that wouldn't prove of much use unless you're running a much older OS.
