My laptop shuts down

Specs: Windows 7, 2 GHz quad core/12 GB ram
Hi
My laptop suddenly switches off after a while. If I start it again immediately I have time to log in before it shut down again, next time I restart the laptop it turns off before Windows loads. If I let it rest for a while example 30 minutes - 1 hour, I can use it for a while before it shuts down again.

I have a HP elitebook 8560w with Windows 7 64 bit.

Is it at virus? I have run a full scan with Trend. And made a recovery of the laptop.

Is there anyone who can help or have any suggestions?

Possibly overheating.

It is a relatively new laptop, bought it in January. It becomes not very warm. Will try to vacuum clean it to see if that helps.

Do not think that it's a software problem since I have not installed any programs for a while.

Maybe you should return it under warantee - could be a badly fitted heat sink.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Downloaded SpeedFan and it shows that the components do not become hot. I I'm going to return it back to the store so they can fix it.

Thank you for helping

I think that is a good idea. I rather suspect this is a hardware fault, in which case there would be no point diving inside yourself, especially at this early stage. Thx for popping back to let us know and good luck.
