my ipf 5100 will not power on. I have tried different outlets and nothing. What caused this was a paper jam and the carriage still tried to print until i received to message about a carriage issue. Where is the fuse?
Is there a specific Canon error code; and if not what is the exact message you get? Often the specific error code (usually series of numbers at least) is a useful nudge as to what's amiss; but not always.
This is link to a download of the service manual; might be worth a browse around sections dealing with error codes etc., and also anything to do with the carriage and paper path?

and this the user manual - which has references to not powering on...

and this may be of some help too; as it relates to carriage problems...:
