If you have selected cd in bios and or boot menu and it doesn't work on known good disks then replace/reseat drive, cable and or power cable if on that.

Othewise the drive adapter part of the motherboard is suspect.

Could try to boot from usb drive if needed maybe.

Thx 4 ur quick response. DVD drive functions well in Burning / Reading dvds or cds. So, is it possible to be a problem with power adapter?? I still got 11months warranty 4 my lap. If i open the case of lap, will it effect to the warranty?

The solution is the same. If you have known good disks and you are sure you set everything correctly to boot from disk and it doesn't there is nothing left to do but return.

As to why it can seeming burn and read is unclear but doesn't matter.

Might have anyone else check your work. Might be some oddity of wording in bios or boot menu.
