My hdd can't be recognized by bios

Specs: Windows XP
So,yesterday i was gone like 2 hours,and when i came back,my hdd can't be recognized by bios,neither the dvd wr,and it makes a ticking sound.i tried to swap all ide cables and all that stuff,but nt? do you think it crashed for all? i tried to install windows vista a few times and i kept restarting from the button...think thats it?

Sounds like you HDD has died or is in the process. Check the link below for sounds made by your Make HDD.

Best advice I can give at this moment, install the HDD as a Slave in another computer and save whatever you need to CD/DVD external HDD, USBFlash Drive.

There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.

i found the sound on the link you gave me,its the second seagate option.But the weird thing is that neither the dvd wr can't be recongnized,maybe its the cable...

If both drives are connected on the same cable failure of one will affect the other one.

Remove the hard drive and see if the CD drive will then work.
