my external hd want power bac up

Specs: Windows XP
i was cleaning up the external hd and deleted all the files from it which i souldnt have done and now it want even power on. what can i do to fix this. i have a roxio back on track 3 le disc. it was working perfectly fine before i deleted all the files.

Removing files from your external should not have corrupted the drive.

Look in Windows Disk Management to see if the drive shows there. If so, post all the information listed for that drive.

I am running Windows 7. The procedure should be very similar. Go to Start> Control panel> administrative tools> Computer Management> Storage> Disk Management.

Did you expand to full screen? If the drive doesn't show there then it may have died. The stress of removing the files may have did it in.

What do you mean by this? "when i disconnect the power from the hd the encolser will power on"

Did you open the enclosure?
