Does this happen with every application and also the browser(s) you may be using?

Possibly the application/s is/are set to print to file instead of printing as normal?

If you go tot he properties for the printer (in each application) there is (ought to be) an option for "print to file"; ensure that box isn't ticked/checked.

Tap the Start icon and type 'Devices and Printers' and you will get the option 'Printers...' click on it and when it opens right click on the printer and select Printer Properties. Uncheck the Print to File box, Apply and OK. Then recheck the printer options in Word, your browser, etc. to see if there is also the setting there to fix. In Word, you may need to select print from a document and go to properties from there and uncheck the print to file. Once the default is fixed and you uncheck it during one print in the program, it should continue across future prints.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
