My dvd rom drive will not read disk

January 27, 2011 at 09:37:28
Specs: Windows Vista
My dvd rom drive will not read any type of disk at all. When I put a disk in, the light comes on and it makes a sound, but that is all that happens. If I go to my computer and attempt to manually start the disk, it will pop the tray open and prompt me to insert a disk. The device manager says that the device is working properly and that I have the latest version of the driver required. I've tried all type of disk and software. Any advice?

the best way to repair this problem is to go to your computer or laptops company website.for example,my laptop is dell.i had the same problem,i went to and searched this problem.they gave me a computer diagonosis and a report to the dell customer centre.the computer diagonosis was to be activated with a key.the dell support centre will give you the key in 2 hours.just activate the diagonosis with the key and between, your computer may blink and blur but when the diagonosis is done no problem will occur.then restart your computer and the problem is solved.
