My computer wont start up

Specs: Windows Vista
My modem quit, it was 10 years old, so i went to my ISP and exchanged it, was installing it on my comp, clicked the start menu and selected restart, it shut off and now wont restart...no fans no lights nothing...I ws wondering if Best buy can test my power supply?

Switch of and unplug the power.leave it for 5 minutes. If that fails have a look at your motherboard manual to see how to reset the bios.

Don't rush into a BIOS update. If it goes wrong you will need a new motherboard.

The modem itself might have a reset feature, otherwise send it back again,

I didt say update bios Derek? ?
I said reset. Meening Take the battery out or cross the pins on the motherboard to reset it... not update it(flash). I would never advise anybody to do that with out good reason.
