Specs: Windows 8.1 pro, i7 4770k 8gb
Hi,

I have had my computer for about 6 months now giver or take a few. I left on holidays for
2 weeks and come back to find that the computer wont start. So i replaced the CMOS Battery Still Wont boot, Checked the psu and it is working, changed power buttons to see if that was it but it still didnt have any effect. The light on the motherboard lights up when connected to power so it is receiving power. Is my motherboard defiantly broken or could there be another problem?

Did you leave your computer plugged in & switched on for 2 weeks? Do you use a surge protector? Any idea if there was any type storm while you were away? The power supply would be the place to start.

"The light on the motherboard lights up when connected to power so it is receiving power"

That only means it's receiving standby power. It doesn't mean the PSU is putting out +3.3v, +5v, or +12v power or putting it out at the required amperages.

EDIT: if it's only 6 moinths old, you should be looking into warranty replacement rather than randomly switching out parts.

While you were gone was anyone left at your house that could have messed with it?
