Specs: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3
my computer keeps turning its self off when. it usally turns its self of when i have been playing a game for about 5-10 mins. it has only resently started doing this. i have Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7400 @ 2.80GHz, 3582MB RAM would be 4 but its xp, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT,Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3, asus p5n-e sli, please someone help !!!!!

It seems to me that you have too little power. Please list the specs of your power supply. Mainly: max amps on the +12 volt line, and the total watts.

How many hard drives do you have? Have you recently added parts to your computer, and had this problem?

Do NOT continue to run games and/or processor intensive applications on this machine. It seems that the graphics cards are requiring too much power.

Find out if your computer will stay on without running anything processor intensive.

It's got nothing to do with XP. The same thing would happen with any 32-bit OS.

The two most common problems are an inadequate power supply as was mentioned above, or an overheating CPU.
