My computer has had a problem that has been getting worse over the past year. Whenever i turn it on it automatically reboots a couple times before it gets into windows. It has been getting to be more and more and now it actually doesnt even post the bios before it reboots. Once it finally does boot into windows though...i can restart the system and this doesnt happen as long as it booted into windows at least once. Now a while back i started getting a kind of hissing noise coming from the PSU (it sounds like that where it comes from) and lately i have to turn the power switch in the back on and off for the front power button to even turn it on. The whole thing seems to run crappy also. I was thinking the PSU was going bad... it is a 420w piece of crap that came with the XION case i bought for it years ago...i really dont have the money to be buying and swapping random parts so any input on my situation would really be appreciated. Thanks
I would make sure all the dust bunnies are cleaned out of the cpu cooler, then check the pc health (Temperature) in the bios and if all is good, order a new Antec or other decent power supply from NewEgg($50).
