Specs: Windows Vista Home Premium
My mouse is not working properly. The pointer is all over the place. Sorry, I don't know how else to explain. At first I thought it was the pad. I changed the pad, and still have the problem. I have to search for the pointer. It's not following the mouse.

Is the subject computer a laptop or netbook ?

If yes....

Have you, or is it possible someone else who had access to this computer...
- dropped it, or dropped anything on it, or otherwise exposed it to a physical jolt ?
- spilled liquid on it, or sprayed it with liquid, or exposed it to liquid such as rain ?

Has there been a power failure event that happened recently while the AC adapter was plugged in ?

There must be something else that is wrong.
Try a USB mouse.
