|Just installed used mobo. After optical drive not recognized for a a few months by old mobo (had tried several drives, would not recognize any), computer suddenly shut itself down. When restarted, would not boot past agp driver. Replaced graphics card with one that I know works -- same result. Consensus, old mobo (about 5-6 yrs old) had died. Other than optical drive, everything seemed to work before crash.|
Computer powers up, hard drives and all fans whirr (including graphics card) -- but no video, mouse or keyboard. No sound. What else is or isn't working not obvious under circumstances. Connections "seem" correct. CPU seated properly.
Reseated CPU. Tried reseating at least some of the RAM modules.
Hard drives work fine when accessed as data drives by other computer. At least by visual inspection, mobo seems complete. Seems even if memory modules not all in right, should still get something.
What can I do -- short of taking to technician to test mobo with instruments?
